The adyannnews website, has published a photograph of a Baha’i-run optometry shop in Zahedan, along with an article which says that although all the Shia and Sunni religious authorities have stated that all sorts of transactions and dealings with the Baha’is are haram (religiously forbidden), the Atiyeh Sazan health insurance company has contracts for services with a number of Bahai-run opticians to provide services. It includes some Bahai-run businesses in its list of approved providers, and the pictured optometrist, which is not included in the list, is also said to have a contract with the insurer. The report claims that the Baha’is attract customers by providing services not covered by the insurance company, and invoicing them incorrectly. It further states, “The deviant Bahai sect serves the purposes of the satanic Zionist regime and attacks the sacred Republic of Iran, by seeking to dominate the Iranian economy, but they will be thwarted by the diligence of authorities in enforcing the laws and by the citizens’ following the supreme source of emulation (Khamenei).”

The article concludes with various fatwas against having business dealings or social contact with Bahai’s.

My dad, Alimohammad Hashemi, MD lost his job and 11 years of his pension in Iran because he was a member of the Baha’i Faith. He served the Iranian patients for 45 years with great care. He was not paid by Insurance Companies, but only took the small co-pay. He not only see poor patients free of charge but paid for their prescriptions too. I am hoping that the silent majority in Iran see how honest, hard working, and good member of their communities, and come to their defense.

So sad. I would get really angry about this if Abdu’l-Baha had not counseled so clearly that we are not to lose our tempers.

Shame on the Islamic Republic of Iran and its Clergy for constantly lying to the public and abusing Human Rights of all minorities. Justice will eventually be served.
Wake up Iranian people, and truly raise your voice against this tyrannical dictatorship.
