Hamadan Court Has Sentenced Ten Baha’is to Imprisonment and Exile

According to “BahaiNews” and based on judicial authorities’ assertion, on July 29th 2015 ten Baha’i citizens were sentenced to imprisonment and exile.

Again according to a reliable source, ten Baha’is were sentenced to ten years imprisonment; two of them were further sentenced to two years exile to the port city of Khash.

The same source mentioned that “Previously the judicial authority had indicated that due to a lack of sufficient evidence, these people would be acquitted.”

According to the same source, Shaheen Rashedi, Atefeh Zahedi, Romina Tabibi, Mina Hemati, Parvaneh Ayyoubi, Mozaffar Ayyoubi, Farideh Ayyoubi and Mehran Khandel were sentenced to one year of incarceration each. Masoud Azarnoush and Hamid Azarnoush were sentenced to one year in prison and two years of exile to Khash each.

After one month these Baha’is will be available to be released on bail.

Previously, “BahaiNews” has reported the news of the arrests and judicial process of these Baha’is from Hamadan.

    I don’t understand what the government gets out of this. It doesn’t make sense unless they are able to milk a lot of money through bail. Is that it?
