Transfer of Vahed Kholoosi to Section 4 of Rajai Shahr Prison

vahed-kholousiHRANA News Agency – Today at noon, Vahed Kholoosi, a civil rights activist and an expelled Baha’i student, was transferred to Hall 12 of Section 4 in Rajai Shahr prison.

According to HRA –  Human Rights Activists in Iran –  Vahed Kholoosi, a Baha’i civil rights activist who was imprisoned on September 13th, 2015 to serve his 5-year sentence, was transferred to Hall 12 of Section 4 at Rajai Shahr prison today.

This human rights activist received his subpoena on August 17th, 2011. Upon his arrival at Branch 3 of the Evin Prison Court, he was arrested and spent 21 days in Section 2A of the notorious Evin Prison; he was subsequently transferred to Rajai Shahr prison.

In June 2011 Mr. Kholoosi was sentenced to 5 years in prison at Branch 28 of the Revolutionary Court, with Judge Moghiseh as presiding judge. This sentence was upheld in appeals court as well.

He was charged with “collaboration and conspiracy to commit crimes against national security”, “membership in the Baha’i Faith and active participation in affairs of that community and contributing to its spread”, “membership and active participation in organizations defending both the right to education and human rights” and “propaganda against the regime of the Islamic Republic [of Iran].”
