Parliament Ready to Approve Budget Item to Combat Baha'is

Ayandeh Rouchan news agency is the mouthpiece of orthodoxy and fanaticism in Qom.  On Sunday, March 8, 2009, it reported that Iran’s Parliament had finally passed the administration’s budget request for the next fiscal year by a vote of 148 Members of Parliament out of a total of 237.

According to the same report, on the recommendation of the Social Committee, a sum of 30 billion Rials [equivalent to $3.1 million] has been allocated for “promotion of teaching and dispatch of teachers to combat Satan-worshippers, Sufis and Baha’is.”

The same report indicates that this sum will be deducted from the budget of the Executive branch and added to Qom’s budget for seminary schools.

You’ve got to love Iran’s fiscal responsibility!

    Simply saddening.

It’s cases like these where one needs to look at the government of Iran and how they conduct each situation as a whole.

On one instance they state that they protect Baha’is and they are considered citizens of Iran and have their rights. Yet, at others moments such as this, they approve generous funding to ensure Baha’is have no growth and are pushed to be the most belittled of citizens. How saddening this truly is.

This cannot stop the motion of unity the Baha’i Faith promotes worldwide no matter how many rials are spent to attempt at stunting its growth.

I am so happy. I am so very happy for the Islamic regime and its bigotry and fanaticism. Because it is letting the whole world know about the Baha’i faith and about the really open-minded and just character of the majority of Iranians who are defending religious freedom in Iran despite what the regime does.

I am happy because the mullahs demonstrate the true lack of freedom of conscience in Iran; for showing their truly duplicitous face; for causing the number of hits on Baha’i websites worldwide to soar to levels never before seen, especially from youth in Iran, who constitute over 70% of the population. And I am so happy that they are doing all this while burying themselves in the quicksand of disappearing oil revenues — spending their money on combatting Satan-worshippers, Sufis, and Baha’is. Thank you.

It feels so good, just like “a cold glass of water going down,” as we say in Iran. In fact, if the Baha’i teachings had not prohibited that kind of deference, I wish I could go there and kiss the hands of every single one of these people, from Mr. Khamane’i all the way down to guys who spray paint insults to Baha’is and members of other faiths in Iran.

Thank you thank you thank you!

“Send down upon them, O my Lord, what will cause them to be busied with each others’ concerns. Let, then, their violence be confined to their own selves, that the land and they that dwell therein may find peace. ”
