HRANA – Manijeh Azamian, a Baha’i citizen living in Babol, was arrested by the city’s intelligence service on Tuesday, April 15, and released on bail a day later. Four days before her arrest, security forces raided Ms. Azamian’s home and confiscated some of her personal belongings, including cell phones, computer hard drives and flash drives, as well as images, books, and works related to the Baha’i faith.
According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists in Iran, on Tuesday, April 15, 2021, Manijeh Azamian, a Baha’i living in Babol, was arrested by municipal intelligence agents and released on 50 million Tomans ($11,875) bail from Babol Prison a day later.
After searching Ms. Azamian’s home, officers asked her to return to the Babol Intelligence Office for questioning that afternoon. This Baha’i citizen was interrogated for several hours by intelligence agents after the search of her home and until her arrest.
A source close to Ms. Azamian’s family told HRANA: “After confiscating Ms. Azamian’s mobile phone, the intelligence agents called a number of her cell phone numbers, including at least three non-Baha’i families from among “her friends and neighbors; they summoned and interrogated them about her relationship with him.”
Manijeh Azamian is a 52-year-old Baha’i living in Babol.

A woman who has offended no one, is arrested. She is arrested on no charge, tried on the basis of no crime and imprisoned for only the comfort of an uncomfortable few, who see her as a threat because she does not succumb to fear. If the good soul of Manijeh Azamian is the core strength of even a small number of Iran’s people, this is a great tribute to Iran’s strength and the future of Iran in coming centuries. The others, the clerics and magistrates who claim to have a knowledge, they are a shadow in the presence of such a light as Manijeh Azamian.
