The court hearing for the five Baha’i youth of Shiraz has been scheduled to be held on 18 Aban [November 9, 2009] of this year.

According to HRANA [Human Rights Activists News Agency], based on reports from the Baha’i Committee of Human Rights Activists in Iran, the court hearing of 5 Baha’i youth of Shiraz, named Haleh Houshmandi, Afshin Ahsanian, Vahdat Dana, Farham Ma‘soumi, and Keyvan Karami, who were detained earlier this year and are now free on bail, will be held on 18 Aban [November 9, 2009], in accordance with the court summons.

The accusations against the Baha’is are announced as: “activities against national security by teaching the Baha’iFaith, forming illegal groups, and connections with foreign elements.”

It should be mentioned that some of the youth had been arrested in connection with the 52 Baha’i youth of Shiraz in 1384 [2005/2006], who were convicted despite the clear declaration of their innocence issued by the Office of the Spiritual Leader in the Province of Fars.
