9 Songs dedicated to the Baha'is in Iran

The persecution of the Baha’is in the homeland of their Religion has stirred an outcry from governments and media in their defense. Less noticed, however, are the many individual efforts around the world in support and in remembrance of the beleaguered Baha’i community. IPW is pleased to present eight songs dedicated to that community.

Here is one more evidence that the ordeal of the Baha’is in Iran is not a mere theological controversy but a deal that concerns the future of our precious planet, the heritage we will be leaving for our grand-children. Unless and until religious strife is replaced by inter-religious collaboration, love and harmony, unity cannot prevail and the multiple threats to life on this earth cannot be avoided. A mere lip denial of their cause would suffice for their liberation, but the Iranian Baha’is are courageously standing up for the rights of all humanity and these songs attest, their example is spurring us all towards unity.

Is this an actual compilation album or just a group of songs selected by IPW? If it is the former, what is the name and how can we access it? If the latter, where did you find these songs? Thanks.

Iran is the ‘cradle’ of the Baha’i faith, but it is indeed global, in over 220 countries and territories.

I’m don’t think you can download any of the other songs, but Elika Mahony has a page on her website where you can download Persecution and a number of other Baha’i songs.

Just a suggestion – but it’s worked for other causes – and there are Baha’i musicians and even booking agencies which might be willing to lend a hand – how about putting an album and even a concert tour to relay the cry of the persecuted around the world? The legal/benefits technicalities can be worked out, but I’d be willing to bet Doug Cameron, Jim Seals, and many of these artists would be very interested!! Let’s see what we can get started … it may lead to victory for all the persecuted everywhere! [I know – kinda nebulous, but may be worth it …] MRF
