Academic staff of Baha’i distant education university arrested in Iran

The security forces have raided the houses of the staff of several online Baha’i universities in different cities and have detained them after searching their houses.

Iranian security forces have  arrested a number of  staff and faculty members of a Baha’i online university.

According to the Human Rights House of Iran, Iranian security forces have shut down a science and research center operated by the Bahai’i Institute of Higher Education at Iran’s Open University and arrested a number of its staff and faculty members. According to the Human Rights House of Iran, the offers online access to higher education for Bah’is who are denied university access on account of their faith.

Iranian security forces have raided the homes of Amanollah Mostaghim, Ramin Zibaei, Afrouz Farmanbordari, Babak Beheshti, Roksana Mirkazemi, Rouhollah Haghpajooh, Shahin Negari, Hassan Momtaz, Faraneh Tahghighi, Sina Rahimi, Noushin Khadem, Nasim Bagheri, Anisa Rahimi, Mehran Behmordi, Houshang Misaghian, Mr. Talei, Mahmoud Badavam, Kamran Mortezaei, Soheil Ghanbari, Sadaf Sabetian, Foad Moghaddam, Vahid Mokhtari, Navid Asadi, `Shahnaz Samei, Negin Ghadamian, Aida Taef, Toloue Golkar and have arrested several of them.

Confirmed arrests include: Shaheen Negari, Ramin Zibai, Kamran Mortezai, Favad Moghaddam, Vahid Mokhtari, Mahmood Badavam, Afrooz Farmanbordari and Soheil Ghanbari.
