According to “BahaiNews”, on the occasion of the passing of one of the Yaran’s lawyers, Dr. Hadi Esmailzadeh, a bouquet of flowers and a letter were sent to his memorial gathering as a gesture of remembrance by the former leaders of the Baha’i community in Iran who are currently incarcerated in Raja’i Shahr and Evin prisons.
“BahaiNews” reported that the imprisoned leaders of the Baha’i community in Iran expressed their sadness for the loss of an honourable professor of law and renowned Iranian lawyer, and offered their heartfelt condolences to his family and colleagues, as well as to the community of lawyers.
Dr. Hadi Esmailzadeh, a member of the Defender of Human Rights Association, who himself had been sentenced by the revolutionary court to 4 years of imprisonment, was among the lawyers who defended many political and ideological prisoners, including the former leaders of the Baha’i community in Iran. Dr. Esmailzadeh died on Thursday, February 25.

We were deeply saddened by the news of the passing of the beloved Dr. Hadi Esmailzadeh, prominent and cherished professor of law and distinguished and respected litigator, who dedicated his life to defending the rights of the people. We, as his clients, will always be indebted to his perception, courage and selflessness. We offer our heartfelt condolences to the legal community and defenders of human rights as well as to his immediate family and relatives, and pray to almighty God for the exaltation of his soul, and we seek His confirmation to solace the hearts of his respected family and to bestow upon them patience and contentment.
