Based on a report from BahaiNews, the businesses of two Baha’i citizens in the city of Miandoab have been sealed.  In addition, the seals on businesses of more than thirteen Baha’i citizens in Qaemshahr and other Baha’i citizens residing in Sari were removed for the third time.  Also, the seals on businesses of 28 Baha’i citizens in the city of Urumieh were removed on 21 July 2016, nearly two months after they were sealed by security agents of that city.

Based on a report from BahaiNews, the business place of Ehsan Zehni, owner of a refrigerator repair shop, and Taher Maghsoudi, owner of a mobile telephone store, were sealed by agents of the Office of Public Places; as of now the reason for sealing the businesses of these two Baha’i citizens is not known.

In previous years, Baha’i citizens in different cities have faced the sealing of their businesses by the Office of Public Places, which is a government agency.

In the past, BahaiNews has reported that the reason behind the sealing of Baha’i businesses is the opposition of security agents to the closure of these businesses on the nine Baha’i religious holidays.  In past years, we have repeatedly witnessed the sealing of businesses of Baha’i citizens, as well as the arrests of Baha’i citizens residing in Iran, following Baha’i religious holidays.  According to the country’s Trade Union’s Regulations, any individual possessing a business license can take up to 15 days off, and report more than 15 days off to the Office of Public Places.
