U.S. Congressman John Lewis from Georgia’s 5th congressional district met via video link with a delegation of his Baha’i constituents from Atlanta and surrounding areas on behalf of the repressed Baha’is in Iran. Rep. Lewis was in his D.C. office and the delegation sat in his Atlanta office.
Resolution to condemn persecution
The delegation reported that it was a “great meeting” and said they understand the congressman is going to co-sponsor the congressional resolution condemning the Iranian government’s persecution of Baha’is (HR 134 in the House of Representatives).
In this short clip, Rep. Lewis offers to provide the names of the imprisoned Baha’i leaders in Iran to Secretary Clinton to call on the Iranian government to release them!
