This document which appears on the letterhead of Mazandaran province and government of Sari is signed by Esmail Hosseinzadeh, a county supervisor. It states that all directing offices responsible for commerce, industry, and mining are required to obtain specific permission and approval from the intelligence office prior to issuing business permits to members of the “fallacious Bahai cult.”
Baha’i business owners in Sari have been experiencing an aggressive spate of business closures by the authorities that have crippled with their finances. This letter exposes the institutional and intentional nature of commercial restrictions that have been systematically discriminated against the Baha’i community.
