HRANA News Agency – The prison sentences of Nematollah Shadpour, Nima Shadpour, and Shafiq Eslami, Bahá’í citizens residing in Yazd, have been fully upheld by the appeals court of Yazd province. These individuals had initially been sentenced by the Revolutionary and Criminal Courts of Yazd County to a total of 51 years in prison.
According to information received by HRANA, the prison sentences for Nematollah Shadpour, Nima Shadpour, and Shafiq Eslami, Bahá’í citizens living in Yazd, were confirmed in full by the province’s appeals court. Altogether, they have been sentenced to 51 years in prison.
In the initial trial:
Shafiq Eslami was sentenced by the criminal court to 17 years and by the revolutionary court to 2 years and 7 months.
Nima Shadpour was sentenced by the criminal court to 15 years and by the revolutionary court to 2 years and 7 months.
Nematollah Shadpour was sentenced by the criminal court to 10 years and by the revolutionary court to 3 years and 10 months.
These rulings were issued on March 5, 2025 by Branch 2 of the Revolutionary Court and Branch 105 of the Criminal Court of Yazd County.
The charges against them include:
“Membership in groups and associations opposed to the regime”
“Propaganda activities against the Islamic Republic”
Other charges listed:
“Insulting the leadership”
“Insulting Islamic sanctities”
“Collecting classified information with the intent of disrupting national security”
On July 19, 2022, Ne‘matollah Shadpour, Nima Shadpour, and Shafiq Eslami were arrested by security forces and were later released on bail.
