Two Baha’i Citizens Detained in Tonekabon

Human Rights House of Iran, RAHANA(RAHANA – 19 Oct 2010) On Saturday, October 16th, two Baha’i citizens were detained in the city of Tonekabon.

Tonekabon, MazandaranRAHANA: Vahid Salim-Ighani and Mr. Ghaderi were detained in the morning by the Tonekabon Intelligence Ministry authorities. They were transferred to the Prosecutor’s Office and interrogated by the security officials.

They were transferred to the Sari Prison after the interrogations and there has been no news as to their condition since then.

The two citizens have not been indicted and nothing has been announced to their families in regards to the charges.

They are currently held in the Sari Prison and there has been no information as to the reason for their arrest.

    Only history can adequately outline the bravery of these valliant souls who in the midst of rising conflicts and hatred are willing to stand up and openly speak out against human rights violations and promote peace and reconiciliation.
