(HARANA 22-Jan-2011) Prevention of the burial of a Baha’i citizen in Mashhad, expulsion of Baha’i student Naeim Baghi from university and summons of Bashir Ehsani to appear in the Revolutionary Court, are among the violations of Baha’i rights in the past week.
The following are the violations of Baha’i rights in the past week:
January 15
Baha’i Citizen Denied Burial in Mashhad
The issuance of death certificate for Zeinab Ghorbani was denied due to her belief in the Baha’i faith. Despite the constant follow-ups by her family, the authorities prevented her burial in Mashhad.
January 16
Expulsion of Bahai student Naeim Baghi
Naeim Baghi, a student at Isfahan University of Technology, has been expelled from the university.
The authorities have stated that his belief in the Baha’i faith is the reason for his arrest.
January 19
Bashir Ehsani Summoned to the Revolutionary Court
Bashir Ehsani, a Baha’i resident of Tehran, has been summoned to appear at the court for his hearing on February 9th.
His charges include disturbing the public order by assembly and collusion and having a satellite dish at his house.
