Due process ignored as trial date is set for Iranian Baha'i prisoners

GENEVA — In yet another example of the denial to Baha’is in Iran of their rights to justice, including due process, judicial officials have reportedly set next Tuesday as the trial date for seven imprisoned Baha’i leaders – despite the fact that the lead lawyers registered with the court to represent them are either in prison or outside the country.

Further, efforts to have the accused released on bail have not succeeded. The investigation against them was concluded months ago but they remain incarcerated, without access to their legal counsel and with only the barest minimum contact with their families – contact that did not begin until some five months’ after their arrest, when they were finally taken out of solitary confinement.

I adore this photo! What happy, bright people. This is a true characteristic Baha’is from every corner of the globe share which is why no prison date, no “trial” can diminish their light, though we know how these seven innocent prisoners are being made to suffer for their beliefs. Seven million Baha’is with many friends are praying daily for their release and succor.

The ignorant don’t understand that your Prophet Baha’u’llah lives in the hearts of His followers throughout the world. Persecuting and killing Baha’is only fans the flame of His love. If that was the solution, 160 years of mollahs killing tens of thousands of Baha’is should have yielded something by now. When there was one Baha’i in the world (Baha’u’llah) the combined forces of two governments of Iran and Ottoman along with the combined forces of Sunni and Shia clergy couldn’t stop Him. Now that you have 100,000,000+ people paying their respect at just one of your Temples (Lotus, India) not to mention all others including your last Mother Temple being built in Chili which by its completion will usher in a whole new era in human resource development of your religion, mollahs want to kill 7 Baha’is to stop Baha’u’llah. The road to maturity for Iranians to get to recognize the station of your Prophet is through the barzakh of mollahs. This surely is one of the mysteries of God.
