Arrest of a Baha’i in Sari

HRANA – Religious Minority Rights: Mrs. Samira Samiee, a Baha’i living in [the city of] Sari, was arrested in an operation by agents of the Ministry of Intelligence.

According to the Baha’i Committee of Human Rights Activists in Iran, on the morning of Tuesday, the 24th of Azar [15 Dec. 2009], security agents of the city of Sari arrived at Mrs. Samira Samiee’s home and conducted a search.

The security agents acted on an order dated the 2nd of Mordad [24 Jul. 2009] with a validity of only 24 hours; nevertheless, they entered her house. Mrs. Samiee’s husband protested this act, and he was insulted and beaten.
