Mr. Khanjani is an 83 year old gentleman incarcerated in Hall number 21 of Evin prison.

In truth, is there any government except that of the Islamic Republic of Iran, with its dogmatic ideology, that would imprison an 83 old person because he is a Baha’i and remains dedicated to his religion’s teachings?

His assets and property were confiscated, his children have been imprisoned and he has been sentenced to twenty years of imprisonment.

All this happened to him despite his love for his country, and despite him wishing nothing except the glory of Iran and Iranians. So why don’t the Human Rights defenders do anything for him? Why is there discrimination between “us” and “them” here as well among human rights activists? Is this because he is a Baha’i prisoner? Do these so-called supporters of human rights really understand the meaning of being 83 years old, and suffering through torture and incarceration for seven years in Rajai Shahr Prison?

The Iranian government intends to throw away his dead body after he dies, so why are human rights activists helping this government by keeping quiet? Why are those who have been awarded human rights prizes by lobbying the authorities only fighting for their own friends? Is their work not supposed to uproot the stench of discrimination? If their own friends were in prison under these conditions would they keep quiet like this?

Is the crime of Mr. Khanjani that he is not following Islam, or is his crime that he does not lobby the government? Which one? Or maybe his crime is that he did not agree with the Revolution of January 1979. Are these really such terrible crimes that those groups and individuals who were previously fighting for human rights have kept quiet about him until now?

On the day that the government throws his dead body out of prison and buries him in an unknown tomb, all those who claim to be defenders of human rights should be ashamed of themselves! Everyone should remember this well when that time comes!

Thank you Heshmatullah Tabarzadi for bringing the honest truth out. Mr. Jamaloddin Khanjani and the remaining YARAN have to be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, in order for the world to wake up and pressure the Islamic government to release these innocent people.

I totally agree with previous comment. Perhaps there should be a campaign to suggest to Nobel prize committee to nominate Yaran for the Nobel Prize for Peace. They totally deserve it.
