Baha'i Students demand Right to Education at Iranian Election Campaign Activities

Taking advantage of the Election Campaign Activities, during the speech given by Mir Hussein Musavi, although the right to ask questions was only the privilege of a selected few, the Baha’i Student Committee of Iran IRA-Isfahan branch (Committee to Uphold the Right of Baha’i Students to an Education) expressed their demands about Baha’i student’s right to an education, by silently displaying posters and placards.

This program took place at the Isfahan University (on Saturday) from 10 A.M to noon. Notable is that the placards and posters were confiscated and torn by undercover government agents.

This struggle between Baha’i Student Committee of Iran and the agents at this event did not draw any reactions from the candidate (Musavi)

Benjamin Franklin said, “An investment in knowledge always pays the best interest.” I don’t understand why a government would deny a certain segment of its population an education, and deny the development of the potential of an Albert Einstein, or a Steven Hawking, or engineers, physicians, chemists, and biologists. It is in a country’s best interest to educate its population, and its loss if it excludes talented individuals who can contribute to society.

    God Bless You All!

Looking forward to a day that the dark clouds of ignorance, prejudice and cruelty will be dissipated from the beautiful land of Iran forever! That day, all of you, our youth and our treasurers will build a wonderful country where everyone has equal opportunities irrespective of their ethnicity, religion or beliefs.

You are all in our prayers.

People are like stained glass windows: they sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light within.

There were attending thousands of people in this Election Campaign where few were Baha’i students. The Baha’is’ civil rights will NOT be any priority whatever president!
