(RAHANA 23 June 2011) Baha’i Citizen Behfar Khanjani who has been sentenced to 4 years in prison, was transferred to prison in order to serve his sentence.
He has been sentenced to 4 years in prison for membership in the illegal Baha’i group and for participating in religious ceremonies.
According to the Human Rights House of Iran, he has been detained several times and was held in solitary confinement during his arrest in 2009 for 57 days.
The appeals court upheld his sentence. He has been transferred to Semnan Prison. His brother in law Ali Ehsani is another Baha’i citizen who is held in Semnan Prison.
