According to reports by Human Rights House of Iran, Samin Ehsani was arrested when she went court to attend to her passport issues. I know that these atrocities are the work of the government and not the citizens of Iran, but I pray that the good people of Iran soon find ways to promote unity, support human rights for all, and live freely in a world that so desperately needs to get to know them. Please God they may achieve it.

I am a Baha’i and a professor of Ethnomusicology and Cultural Anthropology at the University level in Oregon—and I am shocked at the debassed level to which the Iranian regime officials will go, in order to persecute the Baha’is of that society. I have been an active dedicated Baha’i for 50 years, and I’ve never seen any Baha’i EVER do something that would land them in Evin prison in Tehran! The leaders of the police and so-called “security” agents are carrying out a most ugly campaign to do every inhumane thing possible to discourage Baha’is so that they would renounce their Faith. I pray for Samin Ehsani’s steadfastness. Isn’t the whole world watching this unfair treatment of Iran’s Baha’is?
