HRANA News Agency – Afshin Hayratian, children’s rights activist and former prisoner of conscience, was arrested on October 20, 2017 by security forces at his own house in Tehran. The Baha’i citizen has been transferred to Evin Prison after being arrested.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), security forces arrested Afshin Hayratian at his own house on October 20, 2017.
The security forces inspected the house and seized his personal electronics after arresting him.
It has been reported that the forces did not show any evidence of his arrest warrant.
“It is unclear which organization detained him but we are aware that he has been transferred to Evin Prison,” a source close to Afshin Hayratian, while confirming the report, told in a conversation with HRANA.
Afshin Hayratian, children’s rights activist, was released from prison in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj in 2015 after serving four years.
Mr. Hayratian was arrested on August 20, 2011, and was transferred to Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj, with final sentence of four years imprisonment on charges of disturbing public opinion and assembly and collusion against national security.
The Baha’i citizen was previously arrested due to peaceful activities in line with the rights of the children on June 3, 2010, and was released on the bail after about two months of interrogation and pressure.
