After his release from prison, Dr. Sina Hakiman and Dr. Sholeh Misaghi moved to Evaz, Larestan province, where their medical practice quickly became popular with locals
Many locals in Evaz still remember the couple and are in touch with them to this day
But under pressure from the authorities, the couple later moved to Zahedan. But the discrimination followed them and two years later they moved again to Isfahan
Health insurance companies in Isfahan would not work with Baha’i doctors. Dr. Hakiman had to work night shifts in private hospitals while Dr. Misaghi worked as a GP in other doctors’ clinics
Dr. Sina Hakiman was arrested and jailed by in 1962. He was arrested again in 1998 at a Baha’i gathering but was later released
Dr. Hakiman and Dr. Misaghi visited relatives in the United Kingdom in 2005 – they later heard that Dr. Hakiman was again wanted by the Ministry of Intelligence
Dr. Hakiman and Dr. Misaghi decided to stay in the UK. Dr. Misaghi took a new speciality in dermatology and Dr. Hakiman retrained as a psychiatrist
