According to the Human Rights in Iran website, citing Bahianews, security agents arrested Mahbod, and his whereabouts is still unknown. Some sources speculate that he might be held in the detection facility of the Ministry of Intelligence in Yazd.

According to an informed source: “Mahbod works in a tourism company, and the agents did not reveal the reason for his arrest.”

The security agents searched the home of this Baha’i citizen after they arrested him.
