Adnan Rahmatpanah, a Bahai from Shiraz, has been released from in Adel-Abad prison at the end of a one-year sentence. He was arrested during a raid on his home on December 12, 2012, and began his sentence on November 11, 2014. His health was badly affected by imprisonment. At the end of December that year he received a 5-day medical furlough, and from March 15, 2015, he was free on bail for a time, again for medical reasons. A few days after his release in March, he was sentenced to an additional 18 months in prison, by Judge Farhadipour, for insulting the President and preparing anti-filter devices. At that time security forces raided his home and seized books, a laptop computer and other personal effects. However this 18-month sentence has been reduced to a 2-year suspended sentence.
