From the early hours of this morning, security agents began to raid the homes of a number of Baha’is in Tehran and arrested them.

HRANA – According to the Committee of Human Rights Reporters, the identities of the arrestees obtained thus far are: Neikey Khanjani, Ashkan Besari, Maria Jafari and her son, Hooman Sisani and Romina Zobihian,

Neikey Khanjani is the daughter of Jamalodin Khanjani, one of the 7 former directors of the Baha’i community who has been in detention for over a year and a half and whose trial was held on February 7th.

It should also be mentioned that Neikey Khanjani’s daughter, Lava Khanjani, and her son in-law, Babak Mobasher, were previously arrested on January 3, 2010, during the then widespread raids and arrests of Baha’is in Tehran.

Similarly, Maria Jafari is the niece of Payam Fanaeeian, who is one of the 10 Baha’is arrested in Tehran on January 3, 2010.

According to received reports, the reason given by security agents for the arrests of these individuals is creation of disturbance.

Over the past few days, government media have undertaken to disseminate the forced confessions of a number of Baha’is who were arrested on January 3rd on charges of creating disturbance on the day of Ashura.

I discovered last evening that the corporate motto of Google is “Absence of Evil” –after having learned earlier in the day that the Iranian regime has banned Google email in an attempt to gain more control. How appropriate. One has to smile. What better advertisement for the true nature of the Iranian regime — an “absence of evil” is the one thing it cannot accommodate.

My prayers are with all of threatened and Irans martyred citizens.

We will pray with all our might that the brave souls mentioned here will be recompensed for their trials and tribulations (so brave they are!). This behavior cannot go on forever. This treatment of our beloved friends in Iran is what amplifies the call of the Cause of God for those who seek truth. With every heinous act the misguided authorities perform to restrict it, the fame of the Baha’i Faith only increases around the world.
