Two years of imprisonment for the secretary of the Defenders of Human Rights Center and a Baha’i citizen who has been deprived of education, the pressure on the Mashhad female Baha’i prisoners of conscience and the expulsion of a Baha’i student are the important Baha’i rights violations.

The report includes the Baha’i rights violations in late September.

Ali Ehsani transferred to Semnan Prison

Ali Ehsani, a Baha’i citizen of Semnan who had been sentenced to 2 years in prison and 2 years of exile, has begun serving his sentence since September 22nd. The Judge convicted him of anti- regime propaganda and acting against national security by practicing the Baha’I faith.

Baha’i Citizen deprived of Education Sentenced to 2 Years in Prison.

Leva Khanjani, an education deprived resident of the Baha’i faith who has been in detention since January 3rd has been sentenced to 2 years in prison.

Leva Khanjani’s husband, Babak Mobasher, who was detained along with her, was released on bail on March 13th.

Pressure Intensified on Baha’i Women in Mashhad Prison

Due to the new phone call, prison visit and outdoor time limitations, the pressure has intensified on 4 female Baha’is in the Mashhad Vakilabad Prison. According to the RAHANA reporter, when Baha’i citizen Rozita Vaseghi who had endured 6 months of solitary confinement, joined the other 3 detainees in the Vakilabad Prison, the authorities intensified the pressure by restricting the number of prison visits and telephone calls.

The reports indicate that even their outdoor prison time has been reduced and has even been completely eliminated on some days.

Secretary of the Committee of Human Rights Defenders Sentenced to 2 years in Prison
Zhinous Sobhani, a Baha’i citizen and the secretary of the Defenders of Human Rights Center, who was detained on January 3rd has been sentenced to 2 years of imprisonment by the Revolutionary Court.

Another Baha’i Student Expelled
Rouhoallah Ghodrat, a medical student at Rafsanjan University has been banned from continuing his education and has been expelled from the University.
